Important notice: Planetary hours are «unequal hours ». Unequal hours are the result of dividing up the period of daylight into 12 equal hours, and night time into another 12. Depending on season and geographic location, duration in minutes of those hours changes more or less. So planetary hours should not be mistaken with « clock hours » always equal and used in daily life. Moreover, in the astronomical system, the hour following begins with the end of the hour before. Also the second hour doesn't start after 2 o'clock but after the first hour.

The method of calculating planetary hours: The planetary hours differ from to clock hours. Calculate time between sunrise and sunset, divide this time into 12 equal parts to get the length of one hour in the day. The same period of time from sunrise is the first hour and after it, we enter into the second hour. The planetary hours of night are calculated according to the same method: calculate the amount of time between sunrise and sunset, divide it into 12 equal parts to get the length of one hour. The first hour of the night is from sunset until the end of the hour calculated and after it we enter in the second hour of the night.

For example: a Monday, the Sun rises at 7 o'clock and sets at 6 o'clock. The day length from sunrise to sunset is 11 hours. When we divide 11 into 12, we get the length of one planetary hour; 55 minutes. So, the first planetary hour is from 7:00 o'clock to 7:55 and is attributed to the Moon because Monday is the day of Moon. From 7:55 to 8:50 is the second hour corresponding to Saturn's hour... The night planetary hours are calculated from sunset according to the same method.

Thus, every day at sunrise is the beginning of the first planetary hour, the "ḋouĥa" time (brunch time) is the beginning of the fourth hour, Azan Żohr is exactly the beginning of the seventh hour, Aṡr prayer is the beginning of the tenth hour, Mağrib prayer is the beginning of the first planetary hour of the night and midnight (according to Shari'ah) is the beginning of the seventh hour of the night.

The order of the planets from the first planetary hour on Sunday day is: : Sun, Venus, Mercury, Moon, Saturn, Mercury, Mars so that the sequence of planets repeats every seven hours until Sunday of the week after. The last planetary hour on night of Sunday is Mars and the first planetary hour on Sunday day, after sunrise, is the Sun.

1- Sun hour: Sun affects on the hegemonic and influent persons and because the Sun is the giver of light to the world it influences on shine and appeal. Sun hour is auspicious and good for activities that requires stability, real authority and interior self-confidence, do reports and when necessary report of weaknesses and problems, go to social meetings and important ceremonies or meeting with important and influential people, request assistance and support, promotion or increase salary, perform financial contract, buying, selling, renting, announcement of successes and layoffs, take decisions that requires courage, seeking favors from husband, father, manager, employer or responsible of the government, registration of inventions, publication of special and unusual ideas and start new projects.

2- Venus hour: is an auspicious hour for acquaintances, especially for romantic relationships, make an appointment and of course for marriage. This is a good time for any type of amusements, happiness, recreation and celebration, social gatherings, wedding ceremony, visit, going to theatres, shows and art galleries. It a good time for artistic and social success, enjoyable, friendly and sociable activities, hide jewelry, buying gifts, clothes and instruments of comfort, beauty treatments, seeking favors from women.

increase mutual sympathy and opportunities for making compromises and restore some failed relationships. Venus increases inspiration and induction and helps artists, musicians, actors and other creative people. This hour is not good for accounting affairs and works that require accuracy.

3- Mercury hour: Mercury hour is suitable time for any type of intellectual activities, including study, research, teaching or taking an examination and also for processing information. Mercury increases adroitness and dexterity, initiative and curiosity. It encourages merchants, and also thieves. Mercury hour is a good hour to start trip, to write letter or report, important business letters, phone calls, meetings for development or for communicating ideas and to send documents.

It suitable for children's success, have a good effect on routine activities and activities needing clear communications such as teaching, learning, buying, selling, routine shopping, errand, travel, job applications and interviews and seeking favors from neighbors and co-workers.

4- Moon hour: is a suitable time for cooking, eating, to iron, cleaning, housekeeping. This is an auspicious hour for dealing with women, small children, for family relations, betterment of health, buying home or moving, to journeys, vacationing (time of leaving home or takeoff), meditation (worship or thinking), making reservations. finding people or lost objects, planting food crops, hiring employees, seeking favors from mother, wife, employees.

Everything is changeable and dependent to emotions is auspicious in the hour of the Moon. so this might not be a good time to start something important. Pay attention and do things that you are doing on every day.

5- Saturn hour: This is the time for activities which require significant time, orderliness and patience, concentration and also activities with land or real estate. In this hour not borrow money and doesn't start travelling because in both cases there may be delays and disappointments.

It is however a good time to ask for help and clarification from an experienced person and carnal emotions, to see and understand things with sobriety, get rid of bad habits, overcoming obstacles, success in difficult tasks, overcome difficult people, long time projects, to establish and settle durable and permanent things, treatment of chronic and severe diseases, making repairs, seeking favors from older people (not relatives) or difficult people.

6- Jupiter hour: This hour is the most auspicious of hours for most activities, especially for those which are aimed at gaining wealth and success. Jupiter helps to broaden one's horizons, to reach new level of experience and to accelerate toward development. This is a good time for public gatherings, seek help and advice for people to know and wise, starting a journey, for philosophic discussions and religious rituals.

Is the best time for wisdom and optimism, financial affairs (borrowing, lending, investing, earning), activities necessitating seriousness and enthusiasm, seeking advice and consultation, settling disputes, seeking favors from grandparents, aunts, uncles, leaders, advisers (the people of knowledge, lawyers, accountants, astrologers).

7- Mars hour: The energy in this hour increases. It is a time for war. It's a suitable time for activities which require perseverance, courage, valor, adventure and risk, physical efforts. It is good for sports, exercise, works with fire or sharp instruments, but cautiousness is required to prevent burns and wounds. Sexuality is increased, but conflict situations like dispute and hate are also possible. Mars hour is a good hour for litigation, competition, to succeed with effective and serious action, to attack the enemies.

Many conflicts, disputes, quarrels and layoffs will occur at this hour, this is not a time for emotional affairs and communications, kindness and friendship and it is not a good hour for establishing and beginning emotional affairs, but it doesn't mean not having a friendly behavior: cold behavior intensify the existing problems and for protecting existing relationship, it is necessary that the negative field of this hour compensate with affable behavior.
